I have used OneNote on the Windows platform at work with no problem. This is my first attempt to use OneNote on my personal MacBook Pro. We cannot select local location for creating a notebook in OneNote for Mac. It requires to sign into your Microsoft account or your Office 365 organizational.

But that's not all: A third option allows users to send the currently open page, either as an email message or a PDF attachment using your default email client. Not a mind-blowing feature on its own, but if you're working on a project with others or setting up a family event, it could be a lifesaver.
