How to install mods for SimCity 4 (MAC USERS ONLY!)thatactualdude. A guide on how to make Sim City 4 compatible with newer versions of Windows, in particular Windows 8 and 8.1 Steam Launch Copy and Paste this.

Hello, i need help with the NAM. I have installed and reinstalled it several times and i cannot get it to show up. The game will run, but when i look for the roundabouts, and custom interchanges they are not there. Minecraft file location. I installed a free park file, and that works, but the NAM doesnt. So i will go through what i did, and what is there so hopefully someone can tell what i am doing wrong. I download the NAM for mac. After I look in my download files where there is a Zip, and a wineskin.

I put the whineskin on to my desktop and double click for installation. It asks if its for a mac, i say yes. I pick the complete package, and finish installation. The NAM auxillary files are in the sim city folder, next to that is the plugin file, inside is NAM file labeled z___NAM. When i play the game it runs fine, but none of the stuff is in it. What am i doing wrong? Okay, so i ended up just deleting my entire mac profile to try and do this again.

I reinstalled deka, steam, and simcity. Downloaded and extracted NAM, and installed it. Everything looks like its in the right place Doc simcity plugins, but nothing shows up in the game.

The game starts and runs properly, it just shows me no roundabouts, or interchanges. That is what i check, and i am getting nothing. I feel like i am missing a step, or am not finding hidden documents or something. I watched a video on youtube, but for el capitan not sierra, and it still looks to me like i am doing it right, but clearly i am not. I'm having a similar problem.

Trying to install NAM 35 on my MacBook Pro. Using the Steam edition of the game. I ran the install per the instructions. When it completed, the 'z__NAM' folder appeared in my plugins. Mac drivers for bootcamp. The 'Network Addon Mod' folder didn't. Just like the user above.

So I ran the custom controller app using the default settings, then put the output into ~/Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins/Network Add-on Mod. (See below.) When I boot up the game, I appear to get many of the features of NAM. For instance, the nicer textures for curving roads as well as several new mass transit/train objects. I get nothing new for highways or roads, though. I can't do roundabouts or fractionally-angled roads. (Again, see below) Can anybody help me? Running the controller only creates the basic RUL code needed for your install.

You are missing the entire contents of the Network Addon Mod folder. It should have been installed, likely in the wrong place and you just need to locate and move it into the Plugins folder. You'll probably want to overwite the controller file in the Network Addon Mod folder with your custom one however. Thanks for the reply! The only other folder with that name is found in the controller compiler folder. I copied it directly into my SC4 plugins folder and removed the left-hand-drive file.

Unfortunately, it didn't solve my problem. Is there a resource out there that tells me exactly what files are supposed to go into my plugin folder? Okay, I'm running the installer now and I've managed to get it installed. Here's how you do it. So that you can set up every feature you may ever want, click 'Custom Instal'. When a pop up appears saying 'Are you installing the NAM on this machine so that it can be ported to a Mac?' On the next screen select your plugins folder. To make sure it worked correctly, I started from scratch with a brand new plugins folder, you may want to do this, or you could try out its ability to remove previous files.

I'd recommend a genuine clean install. During the install you'll get a pop up saying 'The controller compiler failed to build a network compiler.' Click Okay, after the installation and end screen will appear giving you two options, check 'Install/Start Traffic Simulation Configuration Tool' (and also Show Read me ) then click finish. Another window will pop up asking you to instal the Traffic Simulator Configuration Tool. Click next on all pages and check that you've read the terms and services.
