Today I downloaded my financial information from two separate banks in the Quickbooks webconnect for Quickbooks 2012 and later and got.qbo files. When I tried to open them they defaulted to open with textedit. I tried to 'open with' and Quickbooks 2015 was not a recommended application (Quickbooks 2012 was). I clicked on show all and tried to open with Quickbooks 2015 and then quickbooks said it could not open the file because it was in 'Open Financial Exchange Format' even though it was a.qbo file. I even tried opening a file i downloaded last week and again got the error message. I upgraded to 2015 because Intuit said I had - earlier versions would not be supported and downloading would be a problem. Now it seems I never should have upgraded from the 2012 version because that looks like it's the only version that may open these.qbo files.

I am getting very frustrated especially since the help line doesn;t open until NOON EST.

I have a client who bought QB for Mac 2016 a few months ago and is only installing it now. He has a screen save of his product when he bought it--says compatible with Mac OS Xv10.10 (Yosemite and macOS Sierra. He has Sierra 10.10.5 and does not want to upgrade yet to 10.11 or more--because he is a photographer and wants to make sure all his programs are compatible with new OS upgrade first.

BUT he couldn't download Quickbooks 2016 because he gets an error message saying he can't use this version of Quickbooks 2016 with this version of OSX 10.10.5--that it requires 10.11 or later. How can he get around this issue??
