I just started a new job about a month or so ago, and for the first time in my professional life, I am a full-time Mac user.

I work for a small agency and we have the option of either using Apple Mail or Outlook (as downloaded from Office 365) as our email program. I've ALWAYS only used Outlook, so I initially opted to use it. I'm realizing now, the Mac version is a seriously stripped down version of what I'm used to operating with.

I miss having my to-do list on the right side of the window with my upcoming calendar appointments, etc. I switched today to Apple mail, just to see what it's like in comparison, and so far I'm just lost. I'm not used to being in the Apple Mail application. Any other tips for a Windows 7 to xOS Sierra user? While I have an MBP at home, I have not used it enough to really understand the totality of all that these beautiful machines are capable of. It works well with other non-exchange products gmail etc. This is the closest MSFT has made the Mac office to Win Office. The only downside to Mac office if you’re an O365 customer is that the scheduling/free busy really sucks. If your an exec or admin.

I would recommend installing Windows to have the scheduling up to par. Using the portal is miserable. Ironically there are a lot of users currently experiencing problems with running Office 365 accounts using the native Mac mail right now.

I find that native mail is buggy and prone to SMTP errors.
