I bought it for my acer chromebook so that I could view jpeg files and do my homework for school.

I was able to use it for about 2 weeks and then it stopped working. The disk just spins and will no longer read. I starting thinking there was a problem with my chromebook, which I bought at the same time, so I had a friend use it on her Macbook (She has used mine previously, and it worked fine). The drive didn't work on hers either. I am just so annoyed because I made sure that I bought a chromebook and an external drive that were compatible for school, and now I'm back to using the school's outdated computers that are usually broken. The price was reasonable, but not worth 2 weeks of use.

The installation could not have been simpler. Remove it from the shipping carton, plug in the USB cable, insert the installation disk and within minutes I was playing a DVD. The software provides viewing/writing capability and also contains file backup to preserve computer file. I am thrilled with this LG DVD/CD player/writer which I use with Windows 10 on my desktop computer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nigella from Works well for Audio CDs As title states, this portable drive works well for burning/playing audio CDs. I have no yet tried to burn DVDs.

As portable drives go, it is delicate and should be handled as such, but it works well. It is attractive, however, I deducted one star because I think a matt finish would have been more appropriate for something that is handled a lot. Finger prints show all over the place, and I imagine so will scratches that might happen. Mechanically, so far, I rate this A+.
